What is an industrial acoustic product?
Industrial acoustic products are bespoke systems that solve environmental and in-room acoustic problems caused by equipment producing continuous high-decibel (95-110 dBA) noise. Unlike residential/office products, high-temperature resistance, mechanical-shock durability, airflow capacity and long service life are critical.

How does a splitter silencer work?
A splitter silencer is a duct piece that allows airflow through parallel-arranged absorbent-filled panels (splitters), absorbing sound-wave energy between them. A correctly designed silencer adds 25-40 dB of attenuation without obstructing airflow. In our practice we use 1.5-3 m long silencers at generator inlets and outlets.
Silencer selection criteria
- Air flow rate (m³/hour): critical for pressure-drop calculation
- Frequency band: 250-2000 Hz for diesel engines, 500-4000 Hz for fans
- Duct cross-section: air velocity must not exceed 8-10 m/s
- Fire class: A2-s1, d0 fill material mandatory
- Temperature: 400°C+ resistance for exhaust lines
Acoustic enclosure application
An industrial enclosure is a prefabricated sandwich-panel structure surrounding noisy equipment such as a generator, compressor, fan or pump. Sound-absorbing panel inside, certified steel cladding outside, an Rw 38+ dB acoustic door and splitter silencers at air inlets/outlets are standard components. The enclosure can drop a 105 dBA source noise to 65 dBA at 4-5 m distance.
