Engineering & Consultancy

Acoustic measurement, simulation, detailed engineering, turnkey application and result reporting services. Engineering design supported by professional software.

Summary

Acoustic engineering and consultancy is an end-to-end service covering acoustic analysis, professional simulation, project design, material/system selection, turnkey application and post-application result measurement. We use professional software (ODEON, EASE, INSUL) and document with pre/post measurement that the target performance value has been reached.

What is acoustic engineering and consultancy?

Acoustic engineering is the specialty that manages sound insulation, room acoustics, noise and vibration control as a single technical whole. Consultancy defines the acoustic requirements before the design phase, compares alternatives and gets the project off to the right start. Solving an acoustic problem after the building is finished is far more expensive than designing it correctly from day one.

Which services are covered?

  • Acoustic measurement and reporting: accredited-instrument report documenting current state
  • Acoustic project preparation: wall sections, material lists, installation details
  • On-site survey and consultancy: tailored advice via space visit
  • Engineering design: performance calculation with simulation software
  • Turnkey application: supply, installation and result report bundled
  • Expert opinion report: acoustic testimony for court, insurance, audit

Which software do we use?

  • ODEON: room acoustic simulation (RT60, STI, distribution)
  • EASE: concert and stage acoustics, loudspeaker system design
  • INSUL: sound transmission loss (Rw, STC) calculation
  • SoundPLAN / CadnaA: environmental noise mapping
  • Accredited measurement instruments: Class 1 SLM, dodecahedron speaker, accelerometer

How does an acoustic project progress?

  1. Goal definition: acoustic expectations and intended use clarified with the client.
  2. On-site survey: walking the space, recording existing structural elements.
  3. Measurement: current acoustic state (RT60, dB, STI) documented.
  4. Simulation: design alternatives tested in software for target performance.
  5. Design dossier: detailed drawings, material list, installation guide.
  6. Application: turnkey or supervisory delivery.
  7. Final measurement: goal-achievement documented; warranty report issued.

Which standards underpin our work?

  • EN ISO 10140 / 717-1: laboratory Rw measurement and classification
  • EN ISO 16283: on-site sound transmission measurement
  • EN ISO 354: sound absorption coefficient
  • EN ISO 3382: RT60 and room acoustic parameters
  • BS 476 / EN 13501: fire-behaviour classification
  • ASTM E90 / E413: American standard (STC)

When should consultancy be engaged early?

Acoustic consultancy delivers the highest value when engaged at the design phase of a build or refurbishment. After architectural decisions are made, acoustic intervention can double the building budget. Early consultancy designs the right wall thickness, the right facade system, the right ventilation duct and the right floor structure from the start.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the site survey for Engineering & Consultancy chargeable?
No. All site surveys and quotations within Istanbul are non-binding and on us. Our team inspects your project on site, performs acoustic measurements and prepares a detailed proposal.
How long does the application take?
It depends on the scope of the project. A single room typically takes 1-3 days, an apartment or office 5-15 days, and industrial projects 2-8 weeks. The exact schedule is shared after the site survey.
Which standards do the materials you use comply with?
All acoustic materials we use carry international fire-resistance certificates (BS476 Class 0, UNI 9175, Firex). Material selection is driven by the project's acoustic performance targets.
Do you offer a warranty after installation?
Yes. On every project we measure before and after the application, and report that the target dB value has been reached. We provide a written warranty for both acoustic performance and installation quality.
Will the work damage the existing space?
No. Our applications are generally performed with dry systems (drywall, suspended ceiling, sandwich panel). They do not require demolition and do not damage the paint or flooring.
