Acoustic carpet combines dense pile and an elastomeric / felted backing to deliver both footstep-noise reduction and room-acoustic absorption. NRC 0.25-0.55; the standard solution for comfort-driven spaces such as hotel rooms/corridors, conference halls, premium offices and cinemas.
What is acoustic carpet?
Acoustic carpet has an elastomeric / felt / latex backing on the bottom and a woven or tufted pile on top — reducing footstep noise while adding absorption to the room acoustic. Produced as rolls (3-5 m wide) or as tiles.
Technical data
- Pile structure: loop, cut, cut-loop, frieze, saxony
- Pile material: PA6, PA6.6, wool, polyester, blend
- Pile height: 4-12 mm
- Total weight: 1500-3500 g/m²
- NRC: 0.25-0.55
- ΔLw (footstep noise): 18-30 dB
- Fire class: EN 13501 Bfl-s1, BS 476 Part 6/7
Where it is used
- Hotel rooms, corridors and lobbies
- Conference halls, ballrooms, banquet rooms
- Premium offices, executive and meeting rooms

Pile and backing

- Loop pile: heavy-traffic durability, office/corridor
- Cut pile: soft look, hotel rooms
- Latex backing: standard use
- Felt backing: high impact-noise reduction
Installation
Applied with full adhesive or stretch-fit on a clean, levelled floor. Joints are heat-strip welded or seam-taped. In critical acoustic spaces (hotels, conference halls), an additional felt or acoustic underlay is laid below to lift absorption and impact-noise performance.
