Pyramid foam is an acoustic treatment material with a classic triangular surface profile that delivers balanced absorption in the mid/high-frequency band. With NRC 0.75-0.85 performance, easy cutting and economical pricing it is the most common choice for studios, podcast and music rooms. BS 476 Class 0 fire-certified.
What is pyramid foam?
Pyramid foam is an open-cell polyurethane acoustic foam with a pyramid-profile triangular surface. The triangular geometry presents the sound wave with multiple incidence angles, increasing absorption versus flat foam. It is the most widely used base product in acoustic spaces.
Technical data

- Colours: anthracite, grey, beige, white, black
- Fire class: BS 476 Class 0, UNI 9175 Class 1IM
Where it is used
- Recording studios, podcast rooms
- Music rehearsal and instrument rooms
- Karaoke and dance studios
- Conference / meeting rooms
- Call centres
- Home cinema and gaming rooms
- Stage and performance areas
How to choose the right thickness
- 25 mm: light reverberation control, podcast rooms
- 35-50 mm: mid-level studios and offices
- 75-100 mm: professional recording, vocal booths
How is it installed?
Pyramid foam is fixed with acoustic adhesive or double-sided tape. Important: foam glued directly to the wall under-performs at low frequency; mounting it with a 25-50 mm air gap markedly improves the low-frequency response.
