Temperature and airflow
Compressors generate heat in operation; the enclosure must provide enough ventilation to keep within thermal limits. We always check the temperature curve, airflow and pressure drop before sign-off.
OHS perspective
OHS regulations require PPE above 80 dBA work areas; above 85 dBA acoustic intervention is recommended. With an enclosure the working zone around the compressor can drop to 70-75 dBA for permanent operators.
