What is ceiling sound insulation?
Ceiling sound insulation is the practice of adding an acoustic suspended ceiling decoupled from the existing reinforced-concrete slab via vibroacoustic hangers, in order to reduce sound from the floor above. Unlike a standard suspended ceiling, the hanger connections cut structural vibration with elastic elements while the fill/board combination absorbs airborne sound.

How is it applied?
- Existing-ceiling analysis: concrete thickness, slab type, current impact-noise level.

- Fill: 80-100 mm high-density rock wool.
- Double acoustic plasterboard + elastomeric membrane.

Important detail: minimum air gap
A minimum 80-100 mm gap between the vibroacoustic suspended ceiling and the existing slab is critical. Smaller gaps let low-frequency vibration through; structural impact noise is not adequately reduced.
