Heraklith (wood-wool) panel is a natural-looking acoustic panel made by pressing long wood fibres with a cement or magnesite binder. With NRC 0.55-0.80 absorption, A2-s1, d0 fire class and a sustainable natural build it is the choice in schools, restaurants, workshops, auditoriums and architecturally-led projects.
What is the Heraklith (wood-wool) panel?
Heraklith is the well-known brand name of a wood-wool / cement panel; the generic name is "wood wool" or "wood-wool panel". Long, thin wood fibres are pressed with natural cement or magnesite binder; the structure combines sound absorption, fire resistance and a natural aesthetic.

- Straight, profiled-edge or concealed-joint options
- Custom RAL colours available
- Use as both ceiling and wall
Where it is used
- Schools, kindergartens, universities (fire + acoustics)
- Sports halls and gymnasiums (impact resistance)
- Conferences and auditoriums
- Restaurants, cafés and gastronomy spaces
- Loft offices, coworking, industrial-style venues
- Museums, libraries and exhibitions
Advantages
- Natural, sustainable raw material
- A2 fire class (non-combustible)
- High impact resistance (sports halls)
- Paintable, flexible design
- Both sound absorption and thermal insulation
- 20-30+ years of service life
Installation
On ceilings as a tile in a T-grid or suspended directly; on walls as a glued/screwed panel. With a 50-200 mm air gap behind plus glass-wool fill, NRC rises significantly — this plenum is especially critical for low-frequency absorption.
