Adhesive acoustic tapes are self-adhesive foam, EPDM, rubber or combined-profile tapes designed for edge protection, gap filling, impact damping and sealing in OEM and industrial projects. Standard component on panel edges, door frames and joints in white-goods, automotive, HVAC and electrical-cabinet manufacturing.
What are adhesive tapes?
Adhesive acoustic tapes are roll or strip products with an acoustic / elastic function on one side (foam, rubber, EPDM) and a double-sided adhesive film on the other. They are applied by hand on site or by automatic dispenser on the production line; profile and adhesive type are selected per application.
Tape types
- Self-adhesive PU foam tape: light sealing, NRC contribution
- EPDM rubber adhesive tape: water/UV/heat resistant
- Foam double-sided tape: low-frequency vibration absorber
- Barrier + foam combination tape: airborne insulation + sealing
- Acoustic mastic strip: permanent flexible seal
- Anti-vibration (CLD) tape: sheet-metal panel resonance
Profile options
- Width: 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 30 / 50 mm
- Thickness: 1 / 2 / 3 / 5 / 8 / 10 mm
- Form: flat rectangular, P-profile, D-profile, bubble
- Adhesive: acrylic, hot-melt, heat-resistant
- Colour: black, grey, white, custom
Where they are used
- White-goods door frames and panel edges
- Automotive panel and weather-strip sealing
- Air-conditioner indoor-unit covers and seams
- Electrical cabinet IP protection + acoustics
- HVAC duct joint sealing
- Industrial machinery cover-perimeter detail
Selection criteria
- Compression set: tapes selected to compress 20-50%
- Temperature range: adhesive must suit the application
- Fire class: BS 476 / UL94 as needed
- Acoustic function: sealing or absorption?
- Automatic-dispenser compatibility for high volume
OEM workflow
Supplied as standard rolls (10-50 m) or as die-cut parts to drawing. On automotive and white-goods lines, robotic dispensers apply tapes in seconds. Sample-approval-series flow is typically 2-4 weeks.
